Where did the icon labels go? We moved the left menu bar icon labels from a scroll over feature, to a drop-down menu.

To view the descriptions of the menu icons, click on the drop-down menu icon (looks like 3 lines).

On the Patients, Counselors, and Managers/Staff pages, you can now filter your results to further tailor your results.

Discharge Options

When completing reports for several treatment centers, it became clear that our definition of “successfully completing treatment” could be more nuanced. We decided to align our discharge options with the TEDS-D (Treatment Episode Data Set: Discharges) so that they better align with national benchmarks. We made modifications to intake questionnaire and the options for discharge in INSIGHT. We will now collect information that allows us to considered completion of “mandated treatment” and “recommendation treatment” as successful completion. Discharge options now include:

  • Patient successfully recommended completed treatment
  • Patient left again medical advice
  • Patient was asked to leave due to drug or alcohol use
  • Patient was asked to leave for reasons other than use
  • Insurance refused to pay for additional treatment
  • Patient referred to high level of care (unless know they didn't report there)
  • Patient was incarcerated
  • Patient died
  • Patient left for reasons out of the patient's control
  • Other

New Alert Descriptions

We modified our alert periods to allow counselors and other clinical staff more control over being notified about “life-threatening” behavior in addition to other concerning symptoms or behavior. (Alert periods are settings related to how often counselors are notified that reports have been completed, and identify concerning symptoms or behaviors.) The new alert periods will be as follows:

  • Critical Alert (two flags): A score of 4 or above n on the suicide severity scale, reporting that they had suicidal thoughts with some intention to act on them.
  • Alert (one flag): Any indication of self-harm, suicidal ideation score of 3 or lower (thoughts, but no reports of intention to act), or substance use during treatment.

Patient History

We have made the patient history function much more interactive and useful. Under the “three dots” menu next to a patient’s name, you can view their history and make edits to the dates of record changes, including admission, readmission, change of counselor, change of program, and discharges.
