Adding Secondary Programs

While at your treatment center, patients may be enrolled in multiple programs(e.g. SUD, mental health, court-ordered, etc.). Vista allows you to track the patients in both programs. To add a secondary program to the patient’s profile, follow the directions below.

  1. On the left sidebar menu, click on the “Patient” icon (looks like a person).

  2. Find the patient that you want to modify. You can search by name using the search bar in the upper right corner.

  3. Click on the 3 dots on the far right of the patient’s entry. A dropdown menu will appear. Select “Add Secondary Program .”

  4. A new menu with dropdowns will appear. Under “Program” select the appropriate program from the dropdown. A new primary counselor assignment is required for the new program. Use the dropdown under “Counselors” to select a primary counselor for the secondary program. If there are additional members of the care team for the secondary program, you can use the final text box to add those users.

  5. To manage secondary programs, including adding or deleting programs and changing primary program counselors, click on the three dots next to the patient's name and select "Treatment  Tracking" from the dropdown menu.

  6. In the “Treatment Tracking” menu, you can add a secondary program, change which program is primary, change. the primary counselor, manage care teams for each program, discharge from the secondary program, or discharge the patient from the program entirely. If you need to remove a secondary program (e.g. it was added in error), please contact support.
