Viewing Patient Reports

Viewing patient reports is easy in INSIGHT! Notifications are sent to counselors and managers (if appropriate) with a link to new patient reports. You can also view patient reports in INSIGHT be following the steps below.


Overview of Patient Menu

Above is the patient reports landing page. We have highlighted a few specific components for further explanation:

Searching for Patients: You can use the search box to find patients by patient ID, patient name (either first or last name), treatment center, counselor name, update date, or discharge date.

Alert Level: Alert levels are indicated by flags.

  • Critical Alert (two flags) indicates a patient reported have the intention to act on a suicide plan in their most recent survey.
  • Alert (one flag) indicates that the patient reported some suicidal ideation (with no intention to act), reports using drugs or alcohol, and/or self-harming behavior in their most recent report.
  • Non-Alert (no flags)  indicates that the patient did not report suicidal thoughts, self-harming behavior, or use of drugs or alcohol is their most recent report.

Date of the last submission: The “updated” field indicates when the patient's record was last updated. Please note: while most of the time, this indicates the date of last report submission, there are times with their record has been updated with other information (e.g. updated patient permission, discharge date/readmission, etc.)

Counselor Summary: Provides an overview of all active patient’s progress based on most recent reports.

Sorting: Most of the fields are sortable. There is a sorting icon available to click, to the right of each heading.

Discharge information: Under “Discharge date,” the patient’s status is listed; either active or the date they were reported as discharged. By clicking the three dots next to the discharge information, you can update their status.

Current Patients/All Patients Button: By clicking on this button, you can show just the active patients or all patients on the roster.


Viewing Patient Reports

  • After searching for the specific patient, click on the patient’s name or the patient ID.

  • To change the results graphs generated, click on “Change View.”
  • To download the report, click “Generate PDF.”
  • To see when past reports were submitted (history of submission) and how a patient answers specific survey items, click “Data Submissions.”
  • When a patient has completed multiple surveys in one day, the data points will be stacked linearly.


Data Submissions

Clicking the “Data Submissions” button allows you to see the patient’s direct input and how they answered specific questions. Reviewing the Data submission adds additional helpful information to the graphs displayed in the report. To review the data submissions:

  • Click on the “data submissions” button.

  • After finding the report date you want to review and click on “See data” to see the direct input or click on “Print” to print the report.
