Getting Started Video
The following 2-minute video reviews how to log in to the software for the first time. Step-by-step instructions are also listed below.
Invitation Email
You will receive an invitation via email from research@vista-research-group.com to create an account on the Vista Research Group INSIGHT website ( https://client.vista-research-group.com). When you click the link provided in the email, sign in using the email address where you received the invitation and the temporary password provided in the email.
Setting Notification Preferences
Once you're logged in, you may be taken immediately to the settings page. If not, click on the "Settings" icon on the left side toolbar (looks like a gear).
INSIGHT can send notifications when your patient's complete surveys. The notification settings are customizable in several ways:
- Frequency (immediately, every three hours, or once per day at a desired time)
- Medium (via text or email)
- Critical Alert Periods
- Critical Alert (two flags) indicates a patient reported having the intention to act on a suicide plan in their most recent survey.
- Alert (one flag) indicates that the patient reported some suicidal ideation (with no intention to act), reports using drugs or alcohol, and/or self-harming behavior in their most recent survey.
- Non-Alert (no flags) indicates that the patient did not report suicidal thoughts, self-harming behavior, or use of drugs or alcohol in their most recent survey.
Note: The time entry is in a 24-hour format and on Eastern Time (e.g., If you want to get reports at 10 a.m. Mountain Time, you’ll need to schedule your reports for 12 p.m. Eastern Time).
We recommend that counselors set different alert periods for different types of alerts. For example, you may want to receive "critical alerts" immediately, while you may want to receive "non-alert" reports within 3 hours, at the end of the day, or at the beginning of the day. Reports tend to come in batches, so these intervals are designed to give some flexibility in setting alert times.
Next, you can set which programs you'd like to receive alerts for, if desired. To do so, click on the Receive Alerts drop-down for the program and select either “Assigned to you," “No Alerts,” or if you are a manager “All Patients."
Lastly, update your two-factor authentication (2FA) communication preferences. You can choose either email or text message for receiving your authentication code. You will need to use your code anytime you login using a new device, a device that changes IP addresses on a regular basis, or every 45 days. After you select your preference, click "save,"
Once all settings have been adjusted, click “Submit.”
Changing Your Password
After updating your email address and cell phone number (please note: you will need to receive an authentication text to change your password), changing your alert settings, and clicking “submit,” the settings page will reload. Click “change password” to change your password.
After you click “change password,” you will be taken to a screen to enter the passcode. The passcode will be texted to your cell phone within a minute or two. Retrieve the passcode from your cell phone and enter it on the screen.
Once you enter the passcode, you will be taken to a page to change your password. You will need to enter your new password twice.
Once you have entered your password in both boxes, click “Submit” to save changes.
